It is anticipated that by 2030, 600 million individuals worldwide will have diabetes mellitus (DM), making it the fastest-growing metabolic illness. Newer anti-diabetic drugs are desperately needed to slow the rising incidence of diabetes. Several naturally occurring chalcones have been recognized as promising possibilities due to their ability to modulate therapeutic targets including α-glucosidase. In this review article, a comprehensive study of anti-diabetic chalcones as α-glucosidase inhibitors have been described. The review will surely inspire the global researchers involved in natural products research, new drug development and pharmacological research.
